About
Desmond serves as the primary Liaison for the Nanaida Foundation, acting as the vital link between our donors, community leaders, and the ground-level execution of our missions. His unique approach to philanthropy is shaped by his rigorous academic background; having completed a degree in Computer Science and currently finalizing a second degree in Mathematics, Desmond views social impact through a lens of efficiency and long-term sustainability.
As a native of Navrongo in the Upper East Region, Desmond possesses a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities in Ghana. He leverages this local insight to ensure that Nanaida’s interventions—whether in education at Nwinsa D/A or healthcare at Kunsu—are culturally relevant and deeply impactful.
Beyond his role at the foundation, Desmond is a tech innovator and educator. He runs Dercmerc Innovation, a software development agency, and has been instrumental in developing "scare-tech" solutions like Aviatech to protect local agriculture. This blend of technological entrepreneurship and community service allows him to bring a modern, innovative edge to the NGO’s operations.
At Nanaida, Desmond is more than a coordinator; he is a facilitator of hope. Whether he is negotiating the logistics of a supply distribution or analyzing the budget to maximize impact, his goal remains the same: to ensure that every child has a notebook and every patient has a bed.
